HEIDI HARSIEBER - Das ist – über die Jahre

Following the volume of memoirs she edited for her teacher Ernst Hartmann, Austrian photographer Heidi Harsieber publishes a consistent overview of her own work. Heidi Harsieber is one of the Austrian women photographers who have succeeded in developing their artistic position in the context of the international feminist avant-garde since the 1960s. The photography series sees the stagings of one’s own body, portraits of artist colleagues, temporary approaches to Viennese Actionism (H. Nitsch), playful performances (F. West), performatively conceived self-portraits, but also the perception of urban terrains vagues and documentation of marginalized life.
After Cora Pongracz, whose photographic work was published by SCHLEBRÜGGE.EDITOR in 2016, the present book features Heidi Harsieber, whose work could not be perceived in its development and consistency until now.
