The majority of the works illustrated in this volume no longer exist or only exist in part. They were created on the occasion of the respective exhibitions or biennials over a period of one to three. At the end of the exhibitions, they were painted over again with wall paint, removed with high-pressure water jets or dismantled, rolled up and packed away. In the contexts for which they were created, they only exist in the documentation.

The works shown here have “only” developed from drawing. The fact that fields have been created that can stand as emblems for social themes shows that supposedly abstract signs can be abstract signs can be carriers of information, as if they were based on an energy field of experiences, emotions and knowledge. Embedding them in externally created contexts lends them a new meaning and makes them contributions to thinking about migratory movements in the world and the “creolization” that follows Edouard Glissant, about the struggle for equality, about weather and climate phenomena, the representation of currents in different senses, urbanism and more.
