Georg Altziebler

This book unites the song lyrics of Georg Altziebler, the heart and head of the band SON OF THE VELVET RAT, with new drawings by the artist Gilbert Bretterbauer. The texts are documents of the desire to say what can hardly be said. The enshadowed words and verses, themselves the movements along a thin border between this world and beyond, are accompanied by Bretterbauer’s drawings, which lend Altziebler’s song scenarios a succinct environment of objects from the surrounding world. The band is a journey into the unknown, knowing that it is dark on the other side of the world.
