Die Schachtel
The main role in this book plays a closed box, which is discovered by a fish from its aquarium. It stands mysteriously on a table in an empty room. A conversation in verse begins, in which the animals introduce themselves, all of them busy guessing at the possible contents. Native and exotic animals form a natural community, and in the end the mystery is solved. All the animals gather on a stage in the spotlight for the radiant final image. Austrian artist Beatrix Sunkovsky created this cheerful, endearing world in pictures and text.
Beatrix Sunkovsky works as a painter, draftswoman, filmmaker and author and was active for many years at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna.
